Welcome to the new decade! It is now 2020. It’s hard to believe that we are now starting the second decade of a new century. Wow! Where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday we were dreading Y2K.
Every year my spouse creates a list of New Year’s resolutions and this year I’ve decided to join her. The intent behind my resolution will be two-fold. First, it is to educate myself in order to bring better care to my patients. The second intention is to empower those around me to live healthier, fuller lives by imparting as much information to them as possible. The information shared will not only cover the physical aspect but also the mental aspect of health, seasonal effects on health, and how we can use medicine as a food.
Collectively you will find articles on how acupuncture and all its modalities, such as gua sha (aka Graston Technique), bodywork, ion pumping cords, and nutrition, can effectively treat mental and physical health. These pieces will contain generalized information on cases that have been treated in clinic as well as links to research articles, for those who are more data driven.
Under the mental health category the following topics covered may be:
· Anxiety
· Depression
· PTSD
· Stress
· Grief
· Insomnia
· Excessive dreaming
· Somnolence
· Night terrors
· Poor memory
Under physical health you may find articles on how Asian Medicine can effectively treat such conditions as:
· Low back pain
· Sciatica
· Headaches
· Migraines
· Neck pain
· Fibromyalgia
· Arthritis pain
· Knee pain
· Shoulder pain
· Ankylosing spondylitis
· Neuropathy/Numbness
· Complex regional syndrome
Additionally, you will find important information on breast health, how to stay healthy during cold and flu season or how to overcome it once you have become sick.
At the beginning of every season you will receive information on how seasons can affect the body and how lifestyle and diet can help you make the best of the season to improve your health.
Finally, the Food as Medicine section will advise you on body constitutions, the energetics of food, and how food can be used as medicine along with occasional recipes.
I’m looking forward to 2020. Even though this may sound like a cliché, I’m going to say it anyway. I got into this medicine to help those around me. The simple truth is that to help those around you one must do more than just treating people. The key is to empower by giving individuals tools by which they can help themselves.. Providing knowledge is one such way. I will be delivering this information via blogs, newsletters, and possibly even short classes via vlogs, so keep an eye out!
If you are interested, or know of anyone who would be interested or would benefit from any of the topics above, shoot me an email with contact information. The name will be added to recipient list. If at any thing you wish not receive them just let me know and I will take you off the list. It’ll be that easy!
I’m excited and am looking forward to this New Year and new decade!
I would love to partner with you to help you start creating the health filled, vital rich life that you want. Do you want to start sooner? Simply call!
Have a great year!
